Neighbors speak out about a dangerous road near Iroquois Park

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Concerned neighbors spoke with local lawmakers on Saturday about a dangerous state road near Iroquois Park.

Residents near Palatka Road at the south end of Iroquois say the state must improve the area to prevent fatal accidents and property damage.

Five years ago, state lawmakers came up with a $50,000 project to repave the roads and slow traffic, but it remains unfunded.

Now, traffic construction on surrounding roadways is increasing traffic on Palatka, renewing safety concerns.

"Politics at work your government at work. They had about 15 families show up and they did this along with the yard sale for their neighborhood it's good to see the people are out and being involved with their government," says Representative Denver Butler, who represents District 38 in Louisville.

Lawmakers representing that area say the neighborhood has no sidewalks and only one access point.
