LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Tonight, fans of Louisville's extreme skate park got their first look at what the re-designed park is going to look like.
Designers unveiled the concept plans to a packed house.
Because of the Ohio River Bridges project, the expert portion, that makes-up about one-third of the park and has to be moved to the north.
Designers got input from park users, who seemed to like what they see.
"It's an iconic skate park, one of the best-known skate parks in the world. But, given that there has to be some changes, I think there's good consensus for what the changes are," says Zach Wormhoudt, designer for skate park.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is paying for the $3.6 million project.
Demolition is expected in April, with the project completed in late summer or early fall.
