LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested an employee of Macy's after she was allegedly involved in the theft of over $1,000 worth of clothing from her employer.
According to an arrest report, it happened at the Macy's on Outer Loop, near the Jefferson Mall, on Monday at 9 p.m.
Police say 19-year-old Ilexus A. Barnett was a Macy's employee, working at a cash register. According to the arrest report, a black male was seen taking $1,032 worth of men's and junior's clothing to the register.
Barnett allegedly scanned $10 worth of merchandise, then bagged the remainder without scanning it, allowing the customer to leave without paying for the rest.
When confronted about the incident, Barnett allegedly told authorities that she knew the man, and that he asked her to "hook him up."
The unknown male came back later, according to police, and returned the items, dumping them at the business door. Store surveillance video allegedly captured the incident.
Barnett was arrested and charged with theft by deception.
