NEW ALBANY, In (WDRB) -- Fire officials responded to a fire in the 600 block of Silver Street just after 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials tells WDRB no one was inside at the time of the fire. When they arrived, smoke and flames were seen billowing from the structure.

Fire crews remained on scene late Wednesday night working hot spots. Investigators were on scene trying to determine the cause.

It's unknown who owns or lives in the building. They say it appeared one apartment was vacant but the others appeared lived in.
