LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The coroner's office has identified a woman who died in a fatal crash on the Second Street Bridge Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities say Carolyn Strickler, age 25, a white female who lived on Mallard Crossing Drive, near the interchange of the Watterson Expressway and I-64, was not wearing a seatbelt when she crashed. Louisville Metro Police say her car, which was traveling south, crossed into a northbound lane, then went back into the southbound lanes before hitting an iron support on the bridge yesterday.
Strickler was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 12:00 p.m. She died of multiple blunt force injuries. Her funeral is expected to take place at Pearson Funeral Home on Breckenridge Lane.
A temporary railing is up at the crash scene now. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a permanent railing will be installed at a later date.
