MIDDLETOWN, Ky. (WDRB) -- Detectives questioned several juveniles in connection with reported thefts of money and cell phones during a high school football game Friday night.
Police received reports of the thefts during and after the game between host Eastern High School and Louisville's duPont Manual High School. The stolen items were taken from the Manual team locker room, said Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Ofc. Carey Klain.
There were 20 reported victims. Police recovered six cell phones, one iPad, and four sets of earphones.
Spokesperson Klain tells WDRB that five arrests were made. All five were juveniles and each is charged with burglary.
One Eastern High School teacher said he was afraid the incident "would make us look bad," and said he feared it would hurt Eastern's image in the community. He was upset a photographer was recording video of the school and activity on the football field after the game. Other school officials would not comment after the game, citing the police investigation.
