Buying and selling holiday decorations

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- You've heard the saying many times before, one man's junk is another man's treasure.

It's all about the value in finding something old and giving it a new home, at a price that makes sense.

"This is a treasure house you can come down here and you can find just about anything I mean you just look around and you will find something," said Lynne Baker, a frequent Eyedia customer.

You never know what you're going to find. Eyedia Design it Again gets new inventory every week.

The home furnishing consignment store prices items about 50% lower than what you'd find in a retail store. Then, prices are reduced 10% every 30 days they don't sell. After 3 months, items are donated to charity.

Recently, the store has seen a huge increase in holiday decorations.

Co-Owner, Diane Stege, says, "We didn't even think about holiday decor when we opened the store but that very first year people started arriving with their Christmas decorations and we thought of course, why not."

Whether it's a box of new lights or vintage ornaments, this holiday decor will help your house feel like home.

"We call it more of an emotional purchase, you didn't come in here planning to buy that ornament but you saw it, it spoke to you, you had to take it home," said Stege.

Eyedia Design it Again is accepting holiday decorations up until Thanksgiving.

The store is located at 1631 Mellwood Avenue. You can reach the store at (502) 540-4940.
