PARAMUS, N.J. (AP/WDRB) -- A man suspected of firing multiple shots and causing a lockdown at New Jersey's largest shopping mall has been found dead after an intense manhunt.

The suspected shooter's body was found around 3:20 this morning in the back area of the Westfield Garden State Plaza mall in Paramus with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Star-Ledger of Newark, New Jersey, says the alleged gunman is 20-year-old restaurant worker Richard Shoop.

Witnesses report hearing multiple shots, but only one shell casing has been recovered

The mall will be closed Tuesday, a day after authorities say a man dressed in black and wearing what is believed to be a motorcycle helmet fired multiple shots shortly before the mall's 9:30 p.m. closing time. There were no injuries.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office has scheduled a news conference for 10 a.m. to discuss the case.

The Garden State Plaza Mall is located about 22 miles southwest of Manhattan.
