FREDERICKSBURG, Ind. (WDRB) -- One person was killed this morning on Hwy. 150 near Fredericksburg in Washington County.

According to a news release from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg, crews responded to the crash just west of North Road around 7 a.m. 

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2005 Mercury Sable driven by Jeremy Hall, 33, from French Lick, Ind., was traveling westbound when he passed a vehicle. When Hall pulled into the eastbound lanes to pass, he struck a 1999 Ford passenger car head-on.

The Ford was being driven by 27-year-old Alisha Riggs from Hardinsburg, Ind. She was pronounced dead at the scene; Jeremy Hall was taken by air ambulance to University Hospital in Louisville with serious injuries.

The investigation is continuing. There's no word yet if any charges will be filed.
