LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The investigation into Tuesday's shooting that took place on Alicante Lane has been turned over to the Commonwealth Attorney's office for review and recommendation, according to a statement from a Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman.

Meanwhile, on Thursday morning, the coroner's office identified the Valley Station murder victim.

LMPD officers found 31-year-old Joshua Cowles dead inside a home in the 5700 block of Alicante Lane near Pierce Way early Tuesday. He had been shot several times, and was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:16 a.m.

Police have questioned a woman in connection with Cowles' death, but no one has been charged in the case.

Investigators say several people were inside the home at the time of the crime, but do not know what led to the shooting.

Some neighbors told WDRB they noticed a lot of traffic at the home.

Anyone with information is asked to call the LMPD crime tipline at 502-574-LMPD (574-5673). Callers can remain anonymous.
