Corydon, Ind. store receives prize for selling $3.5 million winning ticket

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A winning lottery ticket is paying off for more than just the people who walked away with the cash.  Highway BP in Corydon sold a $3.5 million winning Hoosier Lotto ticket last month.

Now, the store is getting its own cut of the prize.  Hoosier Lotto gives one percent of the winning ticket to the store that sold it, and Highway BP was awarded $35,000 Thursday.

Store owners say they'll use the money to make more improvements to the shop.  Owner Bob Singh says, "Money is not a bad thing, right? Whenever it comes, it's good. So we can spend it for the improvement of the store and get some more stuff in so people can come in and enjoy it."

Singh says the store has sold lots of winning Hoosier Lotto tickets, but this prize was the biggest yet.
