LOUISVILLE, Ky. W(DRB) -- Fallen but not forgotten. As the nation pauses this weekend to commemorate Veterans Day as hundreds of volunteers took to a Louisville cemetery.

The volunteers spent part of their Saturday at Cave Hill Cemetery placing flags on graves of fallen soldiers.

5th grader Ryan Dicks, whose grandfather survived a tour of duty in Vietnam, says today gives him a chance to say thanks to other veterans.

"Well, you're basically saying thanks for serving my country, if you hadn't done this I probably wouldn't be standing here today. And my country wouldn't be here," says Boy Scout member, Ryan Dicks.

More than 7,000 flags were placed on Saturday in honor of Veteran's Day.
