LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hundreds of people were waiting in line Thursday morning as H&M opened its first area location in the Oxmoor Center in Louisville.

At the head of the line was Tracey O'Dowd from Seymour who arrived at 8 P.M.Wednesday. She and two friends camped out overnight outside the shopping center's main entrance.

"We actually had a tent, sleeping bags, hand warmers, feet warmers, blankets and pillows, O'Dowd told WDRB News.

She says it was worth the overnight stay at a shopping mall because H&M offers great deals.

When the ribbon was cut at exactly noon on Thursday customers rushed into the store.

The H&M concept is to offer very fashionable, high quality merchandise at reasonable prices.

The opening of H&M is expected to benefit the other stores in Oxmoor Center which has just completed a multi-million dollar upgrade.

"We have all been waiting for the arrival of H&M for a long time," says Jacob Sappenfield, the general manager of the shopping center, "it's going to draw people here, everybody wins in a situation like this."
