LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's twice the celebration, as Louisville gets ready for Light Up Louisville.

This year there will be two Christmas trees for the event.  A 40-foot Norway spruce was cut down Thursday morning at a home on Lake Sterling Road.

Crews then had the task of putting it on a truck and making the slow journey downtown.  A crane was brought in to help put it into place at Fourth and Liberty Streets.

The family who donated the tree is sad to see it go, but wants everyone to enjoy it, as Jackie Eddingfield explains:  "We're real excited to see that the kids are real excited about seeing it all decorated, and with the lights on it, they're excited about going."

The main Christmas tree will be at Fourth and Main.

It will be cut down Friday and brought downtown.
