LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Republican Matt Bevin has filed to run for the U.S. Senate, challenging Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in next year's primary.
Bevin delivered his candidacy papers to the secretary of state's office on Friday.
The Louisville businessman is a member of the Tea Party. Bevin says McConnell is an elitist who hasn't been conservative enough.
Democratic Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes is also running for the office.
