LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The man shot by a former LMPD detective has been charged with shoplifting.  Police say Ishmael Gough was caught shoplifting at the Bashford Manor Wal-Mart.

Thursday morning, a judge ordered Gough to have no contact with that store.  He pleaded not guilty and his bond was set at $200.

Gough is suing the city of Louisville and former detective Chauncey Carthan after he says Carthan shot him without cause in September of 2012.

Carthan has since resigned, and goes on trial next year on charges of wanton endangerment, professional misconduct, and DUI.
