LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say a Kroger cashier was acting a bit too generous with someone else's money earlier this month.
According to arrest reports, it happened at the Kroger on Brownsboro Road, near N. Hurstbourne Pkwy., earlier this month.
Police say that on Nov. 12, 34-year-old Chantilla L. Smith, a cashier at the Kroger at the time, took $624 from her register and gave it to un unidentified woman who was going through her checkout line.
On Nov. 14, Smith allegedly removed $967 on one occasion and $468 on another occasion -- a total of $1,435 -- and gave it to the same unidentified woman.
The total amount stolen was $2,059, according to police.
The incidents were allegedly captured on surveillance video. Kroger management became suspicious after police say they noticed money missing from Smith's cashier station on both dates.
When confronted about the thefts, Smith confessed, according to the arrest report.
