LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a Pewee Valley dad was given money to purchase Christmas gifts for his son, but used it to buy heroin instead.

According to an arrest report, police were dispatched to the Walmart on Standiford Plaza Drive, near Preston Hwy. and Mt. Washington Rd., just before 6 p.m. on Thursday, after they received a report of a possible drug overdose inside the store.

When they arrived, they found 19-year-old Howe Sedoris, who promptly told officers he had to throw up.

An officer followed him into the restroom, where he allegedly locked himself in the stall. When the officer opened the door, Sedoris could be seen tossing an object into the toilet, according to the arrest report.

Police say the toilet automatically flushed, and as Sedoris pulled more items from his pants pocket and tried to drop them down a nearby floor drain, the officer overpowered him.

That officer allegedly recovered two small bags of heroin and one needle. Police say a third bag was flushed down the toilet. Sedoris told the officer he originally had three bags of heroin, according to the arrest report.

Police say his mother told them she had given him money to shop for Christmas gifts for his son, but Sedoris admitted that he used the money to buy heroin instead.

He was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.
