Family gets recycled car for free

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A family in desperate need of a car gets a new ride, for free.

Stephanie Sinkfield and her 10-year-old daughter were surprised with a recycled car Monday afternoon.

The 2012 Hyundai Elantra was badly damaged in a crash. It was donated by Progressive insurance, and for the last two months, Oxmoor Auto collision center technicians have been working to fix it up.

"My old car was a Dodge Neon...12 years old...everything manual...it had been through a lot," Sinkfield said.

Not only does Sinkfield now have a reliable ride, but she won't have to worry about car insurance for one year.
