LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Dozens of families will get a complete Thanksgiving meal, thanks to LMPD officers and other volunteers for the third annual Thanksgiving Outreach Program.

Kentucky Harvest donated 100 turkeys with all the fixings: green beans, corn, yams, stuffing, and even dessert.

First Division officers will deliver the meals to familiar faces: many of the needy families they've come to know while working in the Portland neighborhood.

"We kind of did a different step this year," said Sgt. William Hibbs of the Louisville Metro Police Department. "Went to the police officers and men and women...we asked them for their input on this this year."

Last year, more than 100 meals were delivered in less than three hours. Many of the officers are volunteering on their off-time.
