LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --  Separate crashes in Clark and Harrison Counties killed two people Tuesday afternoon, state police said.

Loren Hughes, 82, Marengo, Ind., died at the scene of a crash along State Road 64 in Milltown, Harrison Co. Coroner Rusty Sizemore said.  It is possible Hughes had "a medical issue" before the crash.  Witnesses said Hughes' car was traveling east, veered left into a rock wall and overturned, Sizemore said.

The crash was close to the Harrison/Crawford County line and the intersection with State Road 66 north.

Northeast of Charlestown, Ind., a three-vehicle crash on State Road 62 near Decker Lane killed one person and left at least one other person seriously hurt.  The injured person was taken to University of Louisville hospital for treatment, officials said.

Clark Co. deputy coroner Matt Owen said the name of the person killed would not be released until proper identification and notifications are made. Owen said in a statement that the person was thrown from a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened after 4:30 p.m.  Clark County sheriff's deputies were in charge of the investigation.
