LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A $10,000 reward is being offered for information about the theft of $26,000 worth of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon.
Since the reward was announced Monday, Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton said 30 tips relating to the theft have come in to authorities. Most of the tips have been in Kentucky, with a few coming from outside the state. Detectives are investigating those leads.
The theft occurred in mid-October, when the rare bourbon was stolen from the Buffalo Trace Distillery. Police say they've interviewed more than 100 people, and are closing in on solving the crime, but they still haven't caught a suspect.
Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton said, "We're not going to rule anything out. But obviously with the nature of this crime and the manner that it's happened, yeah I think it stands to reason that by all appearances it would lead one to believe that it is an inside job."
Sheriff Melton says they have been blown away by the national attention the case has received.
