LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Stan Curtis' attorney is asking a federal judge to change his ruling that Curtis is mentally competent to stand trial.
The ruling came in Curtis' criminal case late last month, after renewed psychiatric evaluations.
In a motion filed Monday, Curtis' attorney argued that Curtis cannot completely understand the charges against him or participate fully in his defense. That's because he suffers from memory loss and a decline in his cognitive skills.
Previous psychiatric evaluations on behalf of Curtis and prosecutors had determined Curtis was not competent for trial.
No word on when the judge could take up the motion.
