LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Changes could be underway for Sunday alcohol sales in Indiana. Some citizens hope a new lawmaker will help in getting the ban on Sunday sales lifted.
Republican representative Tom Dermody of LaPorte says he hasn't made any decisions about the issue, but supporters say he already has a strong relationship with the state retail council.
Indiana is the only state that prohibits retail carryout sales of beer, wine, and liquor on Sundays.
The law has been active since Prohibition. It initially began for religious reasons and later economic reasons.
