LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested a man who had a thing for Von Maur shoes -- or at least their dollar value.

The suspect in question is 24-year-old Jeffrey R. Penn, and according to an arrest warrant, he was employed as a cashier at the upscale Von Maur department store, located at the Oxmoor Center on Shelbyville Road during the period between May 1, 2012 and Nov. 14, 2013.

During his employment, police say Penn took shoes from the business without paying for them, and sold them on eBay.

At some point, police say Penn's employers became suspicious and confronted him with the accusation, at which point he allegedly confessed to the thefts.

Police say he admitted to taking 150 pairs of shoes, worth $15,000.

He was arrested on Tuesday afternoon and charged with theft by unlawful taking.
