LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Chad Smith and Tony Churchill were arrested after Louisville Metro Police say they were in a Chrysler that fled the scene of a shooting where four people were wounded at 32nd St. and Virginia Ave. That same car was transporting one of the shooting victims to the hospital when it smashed into a Nissan.
According to LMPD spokeswoman Carey Klain, the shooting occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at that location.
Police say Churchill was driving the car that fled the scene and was then in the accident. Police say Smith was a passenger in the same vehicle. Both men are said to have fled the vehicle on foot following the accident.
Police say Churchill and Smith fled to 200 East Gray St. where Churchill allegedly got into the backseat of an occupied vehicle. The driver and passenger of the car became fearful and ran away on foot. Both men were later arrested by authorities.
Churchill was arrested on charges of robbery, being in a hit and run, and fleeing and evading authorities. Smith was brought in for being involved in a hit and run and fleeing and evading police.
Both men posted bond and were released by authorities Wednesday morning.
