LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new grocery store is the first of its kind in Louisville.  The first Crossroads IGA opened Wednesday at Beckley Station.

Officials describe the unique neighborhood store as a hybrid grocery and convenience store that caters to those on the go.  As Brandon Jones of Houchens Industries explains, "It is a smaller box, about 10,000 square feet, so it makes it really easy to navigate.  Get in quick, get out, and be back on the road to go back home or get to where you need to be."

The store offers fresh fruits and meats, and even an in-store Subway, specialty coffee, and fountain drink station, as well as fuel.

This is the ninth Crossroads IGA store in Kentucky and officials say they are always looking to grow.
