Snowy commute for Louisville drivers

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It was a snowy commute for Louisville drivers on Friday afternoon.

It took nearly two hours for a WDRB News crew to travel from 7th and Ali to Market and Wenzel streets.  Traffic on East Market was very slow Friday afternoon.

Many of the traffic problems were caused by the ice that was often hidden beneath a layer of snow.

Road crews were out but they cleared the highways first, leaving many side roads treacherous for Friday afternoon's commute.

Most drivers were taking it slow but were still having a hard time stopping due to the ice/snow mix that quickly packed down on the pavement.

Officials urge you to stay off the roads.
