SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Residents in Bullitt County saw a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain this morning.
Roads were coated with a mixture of the icy slush. Road crews were out plowing, but officials still encourage folks to stay inside.
Kentucky State Police dispatch officials say they were inundated with calls at Post 4 in Elizabethtown. Those calls came from people wanting to know road conditions. Police ask that the public not call them to check on the roads. They advise calling 511 or visiting http://511.ky.gov to check on road conditions.
Police also encourage people to stay in unless they have to get out. Road conditions are hazardous. Workers at area businesses on Brooks Road say their commutes were extended by around an hour.
