JCPS School board set to vote on possible changes, could affect multiple schools

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - The Jefferson County Public Schools board will vote Monday night on some changes that might impact a few of the district's schools.

Under a proposed measure, Frost Middle School would become an academy with only 6th grade students. The school would also have an extended day.

Parents have expressed concerns about transportation with the potentially longer school day.

Valley High School would serve students in grades 7 through 12. Mixing younger students with high school students is also of concern for some parents.

Schools officials have said the students would be well divided.

The Board will also vote on creating a magnet program for a cadet academy at Myers Middle School.
