LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman has been arrested after police say she stole at least $10,000 from a children's clothing store.

According to an arrest warrant, 24-year-old Jimise L. Childress was employed at Once Upon a Child on Taylorsville Road, near Browns Lane, from Jan. 2012 to Nov. 2012.

The store, according to the chain's Web site, sells gently used children's clothing, toys and baby gear.

Police say that while Childress was employed at the store, she took cash from the cash register and kept it for herself. She allegedly did this by creating fraudulent purchases of used clothing from customers and removing that amount of money from the cash register.

Police say she had taken at least $10,000 from the business in this manner.

Her alleged crimes were discovered after some of the merchandise the store supposedly purchased from customers could not be located.

A warrant was issued for her arrest May of this year. Police say Childress was arrested late Monday night. She's been charged with theft by unlawful taking.
