LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There is talk of a new hotel for one of Louisville's hottest neighborhoods, but it will be a
while before it is built.
The site is at the corner of Shelby St. and Market St. in the NuLu neighborhood. Right now, it's just a parking lot, but the NuLu Business Association has heard plans to build a 6-8-story hotel with 150 rooms. Developers envision a hotel with a rooftop garden and great views of downtown Louisville and the Ohio River.
One of the partners in the project is Ron Turnier, the owner of Creation Gardens, a business located right next door to the site. Turnier told WDRB News he thinks it is "incredible" that NuLu has been so successful, and called the hotel an "amazing opportunity" and "a perfect fit for the neighborhood and hotel guests."
will be a year before construction can begin, as the approval process has to be completed.
