94-year-old man escapes house fire in Parkland neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two people, including a 94-year-old man, escaped a house fire Wednesday evening in the Parkland neighborhood.

The fire department says the blaze started on the front porch of a home on Bolling Avenue just after 6 p.m., but officials say it's too early to tell what started it.

Those inside got out safely, even before the smoke detectors started sounding.

No one was hurt.

The fire damaged the front room and walls on the first floor, and also melted siding on a house next door.
