LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Flu season has arrived, and health officials say the number of cases in Louisville has increased significantly.

Dave Langdon, spokesman for the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness, says Kentucky is reporting "regional" flu activity, the second highest category.

In Louisville alone, officials say there have been 274 positive rapid flu tests and three laboratory-confirmed cases as of Thursday, with a significant increase in the past three weeks.

Health officials also say it's not too late for a flu shot, and encourage anyone to make appointments at the following pubic health centers:

Dixie Health Center

Middletown Health Center
200 Juneau Drive

Newburg Health Center  
4810 Exeter Avenue
