Dog who went missing after carriage crash has been found

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The search is over for a dog who ran away after a hit-and-run crash involving a horse-drawn carriage.

Police tell us the Australian Shepherd named Cory was found Friday afternoon and is in good condition and is back with its owner.

Officers say Thursday night a car driving the wrong way on Sixth Street hit the parked carriage, which had two passengers on board.  The driver and a passenger went to the hospital, were checked, and then released.

Police are still looking for the driver, who they say left the scene.  The car has been reported as being red, older, and low to the ground, possibly a Taurus or Camaro.  Anyone with information is asked to call the LMPD anonymous tip line at 574-LMPD (5673).
