Auto workers bring Christmas joy to needy children

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - The Louisville Ford Assembly plant and the United Auto Workers provided gifts Friday night for 200 needy children at a Christmas party.

The 30th annual Adopt-A-Child holiday event served children from Childplace, Camp Taylor Elementary school and the Volunteers of America shelter.

Organizers raised more than 40 thousand dollars for the event.

And for volunteers like Margie Rios, giving is indeed better than receiving. "It just feels really good," says Rios "I enjoy doing it, because you know these kids they appreciate it."

The party also included magic, face-painting and, of course, Santa Claus.
