Okolona Christmas light show benefits Home of the Innocents

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Okolona neighborhood is lighting up for Christmas.

The light show display on Melon Court features thousands of lights and spans 15 houses.

You can drive or walk through what's been dubbed the "Toyland Christmas." It's the  brain child of  Louie Kinnaird.

He works with his neighbors to put on the show each year, all to help the Home of the Innocents.

Kinnaird's grandson was once cared for at the home until he adopted him nearly 15 years ago.

Now, each year, Kinnaird does his best to return the favor.

Santa thinks it's a great cause and is also taking part.

If you'd like to check out the display, it will be lit up again Saturday night.

Directions to Melon Court: Driving down Old Shepherdsville Road between Fern Valley Road and Outer Loop, turn onto Mile of Sunshine Dr, and Melon Ct is a half-mile on the left.
