LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- WDRB in the Morning is hosting the Snow Fox "Tis Better to Give" Toy Drive to benefit the Home of the Innocents.

Toys are important for the children's development. Boy and girls at Home of the Innocents are working on basic play skills, interacting with the environment is how they learn and grow.

"We play a lot with puzzles we play with ring stacks, and shape sorters and we read books and play games," said Courtney Hamilton, an occupational therapist.

The occupational therapists try to mix in toys that any kid would play with and others that are made specifically for development.

"If they don't have the appropriate toys to help build those skills, the fine motor skills and their cognition and things like that then it makes it hard to get things accomplished," said Jacinda Banet, a certified occupational therapy assistant.

Home of the Innocents is looking for all kinds of toys. Every donation will help the kids overcome their disabilities.

"It's really just a blessing to be able to come here and be able to be a part of them developing their skills," said Allison Doan, a certified occupational therapy assistant.

You can meet Snow Fox at Bill's Jewelry and Pawn between 9 and 11 a.m. on Saturday. Donate a toy and they'll give you 15 percent off any online purchase.
