POLICE: Alleged video game thief's plan thwarted by authorities

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Shavonda Hill was arrested after police say she attempted to steal merchandise from a Target store on Taylorsville Rd.

Police allege that Hill and another female tried to leave the store with about $1,200 worth of video games. Police say the two women hid the video games in their bags.

The two women made their way towards the store's exit bypassing all cash register, according to a police report. The women were stopped from exiting the store by Target security guards.

When security guards tried to take the women into the store's security office, the women allegedly resisted and began dumping out the contents of their bags.

Both women struggled with security, according to police; Hill's co-defendant told security officers she had a gun. Store security allowed the women to flee. Both women fled the store in a gold Chevy Impala, police say.

According to arrest reports, Hill was positively identified through law enforcement sources who knew her. Security guards at the Target store were able to positively identify Hill by looking through police photos, police say.

Hill is charged with first degree robbery. according to the arrest warrant.
