CRAWFORD BLOG | Louisville hoops suspends freshman Agau indefinitely

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The University of Louisville announced today that freshman forward Akoy Agau has been suspended indefinitely from the basketball team. A release from the school gave no reason for the suspension, and Cardinals' coach Rick Pitino could not be immediately reached.

The team is in Miami for a game against Florida International on Saturday. Agau played in the Cardinals' win over Missouri State earlier this week. Agau did make the trip to Miami with the team.

A 6-foot-8 freshman from Omaha, Neb., Agau has appeared in seven games this season, scoring two points and grabbing seven rebounds. He averaged 12.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and blocked 81 shots as a senior last season in leading Omaha Central to a 26-4 record and a fourth straight Nebraska Class A state championship.

Louisville (10-1) play at FIU on Saturday (6 p.m. on Fox Sports 1).
