LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --If you're not one of the Black Friday crazies, and you've been dreading the crowds, it's easy to understand. But, now's the time to get on it. Four days separate you from the day. If you're like a lot of people though, you don't have a ton of ideas, and you still want to get the cheapest prices. Don't worry, WDRB enlisted the help of Dr. Raju to tell you what you need to know before going anywhere close to a mall.
"Many of these stores are really trying to help you. They love these last minute shoppers. Don't just hit the stores, going there without any preparation," said Raju.
Make a list of what you need, have back up ideas, and check store websites or apps for prices.
"Make use of that smart phone," he adds.
We hit up some of the most popular store websites to do a little comparing. Raju says the big items this year are the ipad Air, Kindle Fire, and Big Hugs Elmo for kids. To the 16 gigabyte ipad Air first, Best Buy and Target have it for $499. Walmart has it for 20 dollars cheaper, actually giving them the best buy.
The 16 gigabyte, 7 inch Kindle Fire HDX is a little bit of a cheaper option than the ipad and is still very desired. Best Buy has the best get on this one. They're selling it for $199.99, while Amazon is offering it for $229.
As for Big Hugs Elmo, Kohl's has him for $59.99, while Toys R Us and Target slash that price by ten bucks, making those stores the spot to buy Elmo.
The Xbox 1 and Playstation 4 also rank among the top of the list for popular gifts, but they're not easy to find unless you're willing to dish out some cash.
"If you're willing to pay a little more, I think you're more likely to find things," Raju said.
For the shoppers looking to fill bags with bargains, this gift guide is guaranteed to help.
