TAYLOR COUNTY, Ky. (WDRB) - The National Weather Service confirms an EF-1 tornado touched down in Taylor County last night.

No injuries were reported, but officials say the high winds took down trees and power lines around Trace Creek Park.

"It was very scary," says Eveylene Jeter, whose house was damaged, "but it was over in a heartbeat it seemed like."

The weather service says the tornado reached a maximum speed of 100 miles per hour.

The Miller Park storage unit received damage to its roof, but officials say no trees fell on any homes.

"Stuff was blowing into the house", Jeter says "I put the kids downstairs and then we come out and seen all it had done but it's a mess."

Jeter says trees were uprooted, but most of the homes in her neighborhood had damage to the roofs and windows.
