LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - The Kennedy interchange ramp from I-65 north to I-64 west reopened Sunday evening just in time for Christmas.
The ramp was closed indefinitely Friday night after a driver reported concrete deteriorating on a supporting pier.
Transportation officials say Walsh construction finished repairs Sunday afternoon.
The repairs to the pier are temporary in order to reopen the ramp for travel, and officials say construction crews will close the ramp for a long-term repair in the coming weeks.
Officials say they will continue to inspect the piers to make sure there are no other issues.
KYTC officials insist the ramp was not in danger of collapsing.
