Hotel Louisville continues holiday tradition of helping others

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A holiday tradition at Hotel Louisville includes dozens of volunteers dishing out Christmas meals to thousands of people in need.

Wayside Christian Mission counted on the help of volunteers to serve meals to the homeless Christmas day. The holiday meal included ham, green beans, and mashed potatoes.

It's just as much a tradition for many of those who are volunteering. Kimberly Jackson said she's been coming to help every Christmas for nine years.

"It helps me reconnect with the community and to give love to people that are having hard times," Jackson said. "Everyone has hard times in their lives, some more than others, and I fell it's important to come share the holiday with them and show them there are people out there who care."

Hotel Louisville served breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
