LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man working with a crew contracted to install flooring in a woman's home is accused of stealing her property.
According to an arrest report, 22-year-old Matthew Gibbs was working with a crew that had been contracted to perform work at the victim's home on November 1.
After the workers left the residence, the victim noticed property missing from her home and called police. She told investigators that five rings valued at $3,800 were missing.
LMPD officers investigated and discovered that the rings had been pawned at J&M Pawn on Dixie Highway. Officers were able to get access to copies of the pawn ticket containing Gibbs' information and a description of the rings.
Police say Gibbs was questioned and admitted taking and pawning the rings. He was arrested on Dec. 23 and charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500.
