LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A local animal welfare agency that provides medical treatment for pets that have suffered extreme torture, abuse, or neglect took on two cases today.
The Arrow Fund took in a dog and a cat from Davies County.
Ocean, the dog, was hit by a car and left on the side of the road, alive and suffering for three days. She and Larry are now at Blue Pearl Veterinary Hospital.
Larry, the cat, has an eye infection and Arrow Fund director Rebecca Eaves says they believe it's due to neglect, but they're still assessing his medical condition.
Eaves says helping pets like Larry and Ocean would not be possible without the support of donors and volunteers.
"The Arrow Fund is like an extended family of people who care. It's quite amazing. It's touching to have so much support, and we need that because our medical bills are always very high but these are our forgotten angels. These animals have no owner and are in need more than ever," says Eaves.
