LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested two La Grange, Ky. men after they were found in a vehicle with heroin and three children inside.
According to arrest reports, the incident took place on Wednesday, Jan. 1, at 8:30 p.m., in the parking lot of the McDonald's at the corner of W. Broadway and S. 27th St.
Police say they saw 23-year-old Chase A. Pascasio and 26-year-old John Montgomery sitting in the parking lot, "in a high narcotics trafficking area." Both men began making "furtive movements" in the vehicle, according to police.
When officers approached, they allegedly saw heroin paraphernalia in plain view in the vehicle's center console. They also allegedly found a needle loaded with some type of substance, and a spoon, along with a chunk of heroin.
There were three children inside the vehicle, according to police. Their ages were not disclosed in the report. Police say two of them were in Montgomery's care, and the remaining child was under Pascasio's care.
The men allegedly told police that they had just purchased the heroin moments earlier for $50. Both men blamed each other for the heroin, police say.
The children were released to their mothers.
Both men are charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a minor.
