LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 23-year-old Charlestown, Ind. man has been charged with trying to have someone killed.

According to a news release from the Charlestown Police Department, 23-year-old Kristopher Lee Washington was arrested Jan. 2 around 9:30 p.m. after a 2-week undercover investigation that began as a narcotics sting operation at a Charlestown apartment complex.

Washington was booked into the Clark County Jail on the following charges: conspiracy to commit murder; possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, prohibited sale of a firearm to a convicted felon; contributing to the delinquency of a minor; neglect of a dependent; dealing in marijuana to a recipient under 18; maintaining a common nuisance; dealing in marijuana; and possession of marijuana.
