Crawford on the chances of Strong leaving Louisville for Texas

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Is he in? Or is he out? U of L head football coach Charlie Strong has not told the school he's officially leaving.

But there are multiple sports agencies reporting he's headed to the lone star state.

Two Texas sources reported late last night that Strong will replace UT's Mack Brown. Brown was forced out in December.

Sports Illustrated reported Strong was the pick to replace Brown and would be paid 25-million dollars over five seasons.

Another source close to the search says UT has offered Strong the job and he's expected to accept, but other sources say Strong is here to stay, at least for now.

But, U of L's head football coach has not told the school that he is officially leaving.

WDRB Sports Reporter Eric Crawford weighs in on Strong's options.

Strong is expected to hold a meeting with his staff at 9 AM this morning. We'll be keeping you updated throughout the day on wdrb.com and tonight on WDRB News at 10.
