LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)---A New Albany family was hit hard this weekend after a fire killed three children.

The Floyd County coroner has not officially identified the victims, but the family identifies them as 6-year-old Tai'zah, 4-year-old Tyrese, and 2-year-old Trinity.

The grandmother of the children says 5-year-old Taty'ana was taken to an Indianapolis hospital, and was in a medically induce coma, but is now awake and improving.

The fire started early Saturday morning on Ealy Street, after authorities say items too close to a space heater started the fire.

The grandmother says the kids were in bed at the time.

Friends of the family are raising money to pay for the three burials, and for medical bills for the 4th child.

They have raised more $3,200 dollars so far.
